Career Opportunities

Part-Time Javascript and Web Developer

My vision is to create awesome software that people want to use because it just works, and be part of a group of awesome people that enjoy and benefit from the journey.

Due to a rapidly growing range of projects there is an opening for an Auckland based Javascript/Web Dev to start immediately, initially 10-15hours a week, with the opportunity to transition into a full-time role.

You will be working with the founder of the business. I'm rapidly scaling up operations in preparation for the V2 launch of the CloudGlue platform which will become a market leader in Commerce SaaS.

I have spent over 15 years creating innovative software and offer the opportunity for you to be shoved into the deep end to learn a lot very quickly, with a tough but fair coach helping you to achieve your potential.

Primarily working remotely, you can code when you want as long as you can meet agreed deadlines. We will regularly meet at the BizDojo on K'rd to scope and review projects, share knowledge and learn from each other, and build up a great working relationship.

Interested? You should be a rising rock star in some of these:

  • Passion for Javascript - browser and Node JS. Demonstrate this via open source projects/contributions, published apps, involvement in forums
  • Exposure to MVC client frameworks such as AngularJS, Ember, Backbone + Marionette
  • Understand good application architecture and code structure, DRY
  • Decent HTML/CSS - you do not need to be a web standards expert or web designer
  • Data modelling, database access - both relational and NoSQL
  • Excellent written and spoken English communication skills
  • Quick learner - a smarty pants who enjoys working in a team

What you will be working on:

You will start on a standard graduate level casual rate of around $20/hr - superstars, fast learners and workers will earn more in no time.

I'm looking to make a decision by Friday 26th September, there's a lot to do and we need to get started ASAP!

If you are excited by the story and are available to start immediately, send your CV and any supporting documentation/portfolio/links to jobs@xemware.com.
